Id like another xmen dimensions that was a fun came & with today's 3d environment it would be an awesome game. I love fighting games they never go out of style for me.hope they can make a SF vs MK. how interesting it marvel made a AvX fighting game that'd be cool too.

I never played Dimension...it was good then I assume? 3D would be cool for a X-men themed fighter---I could see this lending well to the powers and such of the characters. AVX the game would be an awesome fighter.....thats a sweet idea!

Random question for all you guys and gals. Does anyone know about capture cards for gaming consoles? I have a crappy USB EasyCap which does the trick for PS2, PS3, Xbox...etc, but I don't get good quality with my older consoles. I'm looking to capture footage from my SNES, Genesis, and NES. Does anyone have any advice on that? I know there are ways to work around it with emulators, but I'm looking to capture from the consoles.

I have it for PS3, but I haven't played it as much as I'd like. Not a big fan of the Gem system, but the gameplay itself is fine. Links seem to be a lot easier than they were in SFIV. I'm actually excited about Skull Girls. I love your avatar, Raider. I can tell you're a fighting game fan!

SSX, baby! No one (here) can defeat me! Go ahead. TRY. XBox Live: MistressLeBeau

Also back to playing Skyrim. Trying for all-mage. No weapons. Yes. I'm THAT badass.

Should I also pimp the fact I was on THE Skyrim podcast, Skyrim: Off the Record (ep. 10)? *shameless self-promotion*

Hey Thanks, but all credit goes to Capcom and IFC|Yipes on the avatar---one of the best Magneto players ever in mahvel.

So the gem system sucks?? Yeah, thats what everyone says of it....still waiting to get the game.... Your excited about Skull Girls? IDK...the name alone is pushing me away fast....let me know how it is, maybe I'll check it out. You play SFIV? I would be down for some matches in AE2012...havn't played for a while though....been playing mahvel non-stop....

I mean...we could pretend in MVC3.....lets see......Cap, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye, Dr. Strange, Nova, Iron Fist. VS Deadpool, X-23, Magneto, Sentinel (why not, he can be on x-side), phoenix, storm. Wolvie can be the wildcard that goes on either team......all we need is cyclops.....(sigh) was hoping for him in this game....gotta love that Optic Beam from MVC2....

Yeah. The gems are kind of whack, but so far they haven't been game breaking or anything. I'd recommend giving SFxT a try, but as a Marvel player, you may find it a little boring. It's sort of slow. There are also a crazy amount of time-outs.

Whether he's on the mic or playing, IFC | Yipes is a killer. His Magneto is sick and his commentary is always entertaining.

I can't play Marvel anymore. I don't have the reaction time I used to. I just get frustrated. I still try and keep up with the tournament scene though. I haven't played AE2012 in awhile either, but that's more of my thing. (I'm not tournament worthy or anything.) Skullgirls is a lot of fun so far. I love the graphics and art style. The online play is also better than both Marvel and AE. (It uses GGPO netcode.) As far as extras go, the game is pretty bare bones. It's only 15 bucks though, so I can't complain.

I know it's blasphemy, but I'm also a little tempted to get into that MK9!

What games that support at least four player co-op are coming out this year? I'm trying to work my way back into the X-Cast gaming community, but it's not going to happen through BFBC or COD.

Best fighting game since Ultimate MK 3. So much fun. And the multiplayer issues should be fixed by now.

I personally think it's better than UMK3. One of the flaws comes with the basic system though: it's weird that you have to input combos before they actually hit. The whole "Dial-a-combo" system defies all logic. So instead of connecting a series of punches and kicks organically, you have to mash out a string of commands as fast as possible. The whole idea is a little silly.

That being said, MK9 isn't plagued by the broken nonsense that most of the other MK's had. The roster is deep and most of the cast can compete. I was impressed with the tournament play I saw, but the netcode on both X-box and PSN is extremely laggy. It's really hard to pull of huge combos online. I want to dedicate more time to the game, but my main arena is online these days. It's a shame the netcode is so terrible.

For local play though? MK9 is a blast.

Street Fighter x Tekken is calling me out to buy it. I've got that "This is my town" theme in my head.

I know it's a terrible song, just like indestructable from SFIV. But's it's temporarily catchy.

I'm told that the Tekken characters in this game play nothing like they do in Tekken. I just want to hold off until Namco comes out with Tekken x Streetfighter. Nothing beats the Tekken fighting system.

You're right. Some of the Tekken chain combos sort of feel the same, but it's really just a Street Fighter game. All the mechanics are very Capcom-heavy.

Luckily they don't play the theme anywhere near as much as the "Indestructible" song. That thing still gives me nightmares.

Oh you got it? Is it worth getting? From what I've seen, the story mode automatically pairs everyone up. I hope the rest of the game is more customizable.

Oh, and I said this on the old forum, but nobody should be picking up Soul Caliber 5. That game is so fricken garbage, it's beyond words. It's worse than Soul Caliber 4 in every way. Just stick with that one, if you are in to Soul Caliber. 5 replaced a lot of the good characters with unbelievably terrible ones. The story mode and character customization are hackney developer jobs. It just sucks, in a really depressing sort of way.

It's tough to say. I like that links are easier. I like some of the Tekken characters. Some of the modes are really cool. If you have a PS3, you can play two player vs two player online. (X-box doesn't allow this because of some technical thing. You can still go online solo though.) The gem system is kind of whack. There are way too many time-outs. Tutorial mode sucks. Also a chunk of the roster is being saved for DLC. I'm not a fan of paying for characters. Online netcode is the same as it was for SFIV. I like the combo system. There are some nice tag combos to play with. It's a solid fighter. I wouldn't call it a must own, but if you're a fan of the genre, give it a try.

What is up with the Timeout's I keep hearing about? I've yet to try the game, yet I've heard many complain of this. And no, I havn't bothered watching any vids yet---I want a nice [i]Tabula Rasa[i] for this game so I can get creative with combos and characters...

Marvel is tough....trust me I wanna smash my fightstick probably once a night due to online lag and just straight up finger fumbling on my part....haha! Yipes is the man.....I was just watching a new team he's rolling....very impressive so far. Have you seen any of the new Viewtiful Joe bomb technology people are doing? There are literally psuedo-infinites now where you can carry a combo on indefinitely....I'm working on a Magneto team with this setup....still trying to find my other perfect part of this team though....

I owned MK9 for a little while....learned the robots and was doing pretty good. The thing is, the game isn't set up for combos because you can't hit confirm anything....so for me, I was doing insane combos that were extremely ineffective for the hit scaling and damage output....but it was fun while I played it. Cyrax and his bombs make for some really cool set ups and interesting combos.

You on PS3?

There is a Smash Brothers type game coming out from Sony this year featuring all the big PS3 headliner characters...Sweet Tooth, Kratos, Nathan Drake...ect, ect. This will most likely be 4 player like Smash Bro's and sounds like its gonna be a very accessible and fun game. Looking forward to it!
