Your thought's on the movie?

I thought it was awesome it was worth all the build up. It felt like I was reading a comic book because you had to watch the other movies to get all the little references. A great action popcorn Summer Blockbuster movie. 10/10

& just a side note there are 2 after credit endings. 1 is like midway during the credit's & the other 1 is right after the credits.

This movie was so amazing and so is Joss Whedon, the man killed it with this movie. You could see his influence every time there was dialogue. I'm a Whedon whore so this statement is completely bias but he just needs to be the only one making comic book movies.

Yeah it was like watching a comic book, each scene was like a couple of pages in a book, touched on everything without missing a beat. This movie has sentimental value for me to go see, so I had high hopes for it and it was not a fail at all, a definite "BUY". I'm ready go see it again cause it had so many scenes I wanted to rewind and watch over and over again. I did how ever get mad at myself cause I stayed long enough for the 1st extra scene and missed the 2nd, i know better, dangit.

I enjoyed it, didn't love it as much as the internet at large seems to be. I'd give it 4 outta 5. A low buy, I guess? I dunno. I had a few issues.

Really!? Well of course there are going to be some questionable things but I felt is was totally successful, believe me I'm not a Iron Man fan nor a fan of RDJ playing Stark but I really enjoyed him in this. Actually I'm not really even an Avengers fan, I've only read stuff my uncle used to lend me here and there that he thought were must reads, but as a team not my fave. I really feel Whedon nailed it, I mean we've all seen some really horrible comic book movies.

Yeah, just watch the first Captain America film to see how things could have turned out in the wrong hands.

Terrible. Just terrible.

As for the new one, I never thought I'd buy Chris Evan's as Captain America, but I thought he was awesome!

What're you on about, Captain America was good!

As far as my quibbles with Avengers, it was too long, very formulaic, and needed a bit more explanation of what's up for new people.

I liked Captain America: First Avenger.

Captain America the movie was absolute crap on a stick.

Starring Matt Salinger as Captain America.

It wasn't the overwhelming success of Catcher in the Rye that caused J.D. Salinger to become a recluse. His son's horrific movie was the real reason.

Well, there's no arguing that is was a box office hit!

Very much one for the fans though. I pity anyone coming in fresh, having not watched the other Marvel films leading up to this one. While we have plenty of time with each of the characters, little is explained in terms of their back stories. In fact, there are plenty of subtle references that scream, 'hey if you like this guy and want to know more, check out some of the previous films.' Marvel sure knows how to market.

For those who like hero vs hero action (Civil War, AvX), this film is a must watch: Thor vs. Iron Man, Thor vs. Captain America, Black Widow vs. Hawkeye, Black Widow vs. Hulk, Hulk vs. Thor. Still not a fan of Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury or the lackluster, Maria Hill character.

Much of the film takes place inside the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier, and I definitely got a Joss Whedon Serenity feel.

I have to say my favorite scene is the one after the credits.

Hulk is best there is.

Yeah, if you haven't seen the other Marvel films, a lot of this one doesn't make sense or work the way it's supposed to. Like the "emotional, get the team to realize they gotta work together" moment, if you never saw the Iron Mans or Thor, no impact whatsoever. What's SHIELD, exactly? What's Loki's problem with Thor/Earth? Who and what are Black Widow & Hawkeye?

The movie's 2 and a half hours long and it still doesn't take the time to answer some basic questions.

that's funny cause I am #1 against backstory when it comes to comic movies.i say if you want to know go do the research.too much backstory ruins the main story usually cause they run out of time. I mean Avengers had 3 prequels. the only comic movie I think was successful with the back story was Spiderman, it was fluid from start to finish because it was still part of the main focus.

5 Prequels.

"The Avengers" was first teased in the credits of "Iron Man" (2008) and continued building "The Incredible Hulk" (2008), "Iron Man 2" (2010), "Thor" (2011), and "Captain America: The First Avenger" (2011).

Five prequels is a lot of build up, but it certainly paid off - the film reportedly grossed a unprecedented $200.3 million in its U.S. Friday-Sunday box-office debut, making it the first to break $200 million mark in an opening three days!

What was your favorite moments from the film?

my favorite part is kinda goofy but when ironman uses his blasters and captain america used his shield to direct the blast in a sweeping motion (my #1 rewind moment). Then loki's face after hulk smashed his ass, lol
